 Hospital puts patients comfort first with Diamond entrance matting from MatsDirect U.K.
When a consultant at the new Whiston hospital was transferring a new born critically ill baby to another part of the hospital using an incubator they passed over a metal rib entrance matting system he noticed the baby bounced around the incubator so the consultant immediately stopped the transfer and had the baby carried over the matting.
As this is part of the newly built multi-million pound project he decided to contact the cleaning and maintenance department as well as the architects and construction company to find out if a better matting system could be used to make any patients journey in, out or around the hospital much more comfortable.

The system is designed to make travelling the entrance matting smooth in any direction as it incorporates pads instead of the traditional ribs and is ideal for any wheeled traffic. The product uses diamond rubber pads along with flexible rubber fingers to remove grit and dirt and has a nylon barrier carpet pad that absorbs moisture making it the ideal matting system.
